The Hotel Rosatsch in Pontresina was built in 1914 and today consists of both the 3-star Stammhaus and the 4-star Residence. The Stammhaus in the front part of the property was built in typical Engadine style. The Residence at the rear of the grounds was not completed until 1981/1982. The hotel is located in the heart of Pontresina, a classic Engadine holiday destination. The vibrant hotspot St. Moritz is only a few minutes drive away, and the valley station for the Piz Languard chairlift can be easily reached on foot in just a few minutes.
So it continued...
In December 2009, the Hotel Rosatsch was taken over by the Engadine hotelier family Gerd E. and Christine Wagner, along with their son Michael. Michael Wagner (a hotel restaurateur) and his wife Amelie Wagner (an architect) jointly took over the management and redesigned the hotel with great attention to detail. At the end of 2013, the family decided to move to Munich and hired experienced hotel manager Ralph Münch to take the reins. The Wagner family can still be found in the hotel several times a year, and they continue to work in close cooperation with the hotel staff to ensure the well-being of the guests, and to oversee the management and design of the hotel and any important decisions that need to be made. It’s for this reason that guests at Rosatsch often become friends for life. The hotel team is fully committed to meeting the expectations of its guests, and to maintaining the famously warm service that has made this traditional hotel so unique over many years.

Finding us
Hotel Rosatsch is located in the centre of Pontresina. The town’s train station can be reached in 15 minutes on foot from the hotel. Of course, the station transfer with our hotel bus is also free of charge. The bus stop “Pontresina Rondo” is situated within walking distance of the hotel. The valley station for the Piz Languard children’s ski lift is also located just a few minutes’ walk away. The valley stations for the Diavolezza and Lagalp mountain railways can be reached in 15 minutes by train or car, and in winter in only 20 minutes by public bus.
Thanks to its excellent traffic connections, Pontresina is easily accessible via St. Moritz, from the Lower Engadine or from southern Puschlav and Bergell by car, bus or train. Pontresina offers railway lovers a direct connection to both the Bernina Express and the UNESCO World Heritage “Rhaetian Railway in the Albula/Bernina Landscape” route – one of the most spectacular and scenically impressive railway lines anywhere in the world.
Engadin Airport – the highest airport in Europe – is located only a few minutes’ drive from Pontresina. This is ideal for any conference and seminar customers holding their business meetings in the Pontresina Rondo Congress and Cultural Centre – in a modern building that meets all the demands of the worlds of culture and business. Pontresina is located in the Upper Engadine, more or less in the middle of the triangle linking Zurich, Milan and Munich. You can reach your holiday destination comfortably with the Rhaetian Railway, using the well-developed local road network or by air.
With its modern Intercity trains, SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) will bring you comfortably and reliably from the transport hub of Zurich to Chur. Once in the capital of Grisons, it’s time for the next leg: with their helical tunnels and dizzying viaducts, the Rhaetian Railway’s lines into the Upper Engadine are amongst the most picturesque and interesting in all of Europe. The UNESCO World Heritage label and famous classics railways like the Glacier Express and Bernina Express all speak for themselves. Whole trains can be booked for special rides, and special viewing and saloon cars can be hired on request – with optional catering service.
